Knowledge and Apply digital credentials are available for each of the six pillars of the PSC Framework. Knowledge digital credentials provide conceptual knowledge and practice in the skill area, and are automatically graded; Apply digital credentials require that a student complete a project illustrating practical competence in the skill, and these must be graded by an instructor or subject matter expert to be earned.
As the skills build on one another, learners must successfully earn a Knowledge digital credential in a skill area before attempting to earn an Apply digital credential for the same topic. Learners earn credentials for the six core topics on a range of skill levels, with “Level 1” digital credentials demonstrating base knowledge of the skills outlined. Since Basic Professionalism is a broad overview of six core professionalism topics, it only offers one digital credential with no levels.
